Frederick Ernest Audas
The fourth and youngest of the Audas brothers, born in Hull, Fred worked for the Alpine disinfectant company in the city until his call up. He joined the 1st East Yorkshire Yeomanry and was part of the British Expeditionary Force in 1914. He was at one time a second lieutenant but after some unknown offence was made a private again. He died on April 9th 1918 having fought on the Somme. There are only three photographs of Frederick known, this one is taken at the start of the War. Fred married and had a son (Frederick Strachan Audas) before the War.
