On the cover of a magazine
Family Tree magazine (established for 25 years now) got in touch after I sent news of the exhibition and wanted to both mention it in the magazine, but also think about using one of the images on the cover. I sent them a couple to chose from and they went with the great shot of the family on the promenade, and the kids in strange fringed sun-hats, looking like sun-flowers. It will be on the cover of their July 2011 issue, out shortly. My thanks to Karen Clare for sending us a scan of the cover and organising this. You can see the image as it appears in the exhibition here. It’s a testament to the quality of the photographers working for Snaps back in the 20s and 30s that it looks so good even used in this context.
