Torquay 1950

This later walkie was taken in 1950 on the front at Torquay. It was sent to us by Angela Mills and shows her relatives Bessie, Albert Henry and Margaret.
It is typical of later walkies, in that it has been done as a photograph rather than a postcard, and is not postcard size. The reference number is stamped on the back, but there is no identifying company name. Without an in-camera numbering system it is not certain how the negative reference number was conveyed to the customer. Many photographers had piles of pre-numbered cards, handed to the customer, so perhaps they kept a note of the numbers relating to each roll of film shot. The print shows signs of double exposure, probably caused at the printing stage.
