Flikr images

We have set up a photo gallery on the image sharing site Flikr. The idea is to help share these images and promote an interest in the genre and hopefully generate contributions to the book. Anyone can view the images there, and (unlike this site which shows images in full) all have been set to a standard size and resolution, with short captions.

Here’s another image submitted for the book, talking by a Walking Photographer on Blackpool front in 1953 (notice the fishing boat pulled right up on the prom). It shows Ronald and Margaret on their honeymoon, with Margaret wearing the same shoes and coat as she had on for the wedding. Her son, who loaned me the photo, says she used these shoes every day until they wore out…
